A Valentine for Ann Coulter

Ann Coulter with Hands in the AirOver the past 15 years I have read more than 10,000 pairs of hands, but I’ve never seen anything quite like the pair that belongs to Ann Coulter.

In the language of palmistry, we look to the thickness of the hand, from the back of the hand to the palm, as an indicator of the supply of energy available.

For instance, if someone has a thumb that is very thick in relation to the rest of the hand, they have an overabundance of “thumbness,” which translates to a great deal of will or desire to control. If someone’s thumb is very thin or the tip is flat instead of rounded, then thumb energy, or will, is lacking.

Like the rest of her, Coulter’s hands are long and thin, almost skeletal. This shows a low energy supply overall. On the plus side, the length of her fingers show an active mind. The upper phalange of her pinkie or Mercury finger is especially well developed, the mark of someone with a sharp mind and an ability to think on her feet. The angular bone at the base of her thumb shows an ability to influence others with her own unique point of view.

Mound of Venus in PalmistryWhat intrigues me most about Ann Coulter’s hands, are her Mounds of Venus. The Mound of Venus is found inside the life line, at the base of the thumb. In Coulter’s hands, we can see that Venus is drained of color. Hands or parts of hands that are white in color show an absence of blood, commonly indicating coldness or lack of energy. Coulter’s Venus also has tinges of blue. In palmistry terms, blue in the hand says, “I’m blue, I need more love.”

In my palmistry class textbook, I describe Venus this way:

The Mound of Venus is an indicator of our ability to love as well as our capacity for playfulness. It indicates the strength and energy of our physical appetites, our zest for life. It can also denote areas of temptation or the capacity to devote oneself to someone or something.

A normal mound of Venus suggests warmth and a balanced attitude toward the physical manifestations of love.

An underdeveloped Venus mound can indicate someone who has lost their passion for living, or someone who lacks warmth. A poorly developed Venus mound can show a tendency to be superficial, tastleless, cruel, greedy, snobbish and/or infantile.

The Venus Mound is associated with the Heart Chakra. It is also where we look to see the condition of one’s inner child. Judging from the color and the flatness of the mound, it’s been a long time since Ann’s inner child has been allowed to come out and play.

When we look at the horizontal area across the center of Ann Coulter’s hands (above Venus), we can see that her Mars regions also appear to be quite flat and devoid of color. Famous for her angry rants, Coulter’s palms tell me that she has overused her Martian storehouse. With so little Mars energy to call on, could it be that her constant show of venom is a form of overcompensation? Has Ms. Coulter been working overtime to protect a wounded inner child? Could her public persona be a cover for a truly sensitive soul?

Today, Valentine’s Day, I send Ann Coulter’s inner child a great big cosmic hug.

Once again I’ve been led to research a public curiosity. I find myself wondering what example this woman is to the world, the example of an extreme to avoid?
I also agree totally, this is a woman who’s inner child is desperately in need of a hug.
Good call and I’ll make a point to make sure all my “mounds” remain fleshy and pink.
