What is the Definition of Progress?
For several weeks now I have been dealing with a service provider who does not seem to actually provide any service. The electronic device that supposedly allows me to use this service has turned out to be too complex even for the technical support team of the company that sent it to me.
My frustration with both the device and the company have led me to long for “the days when we banged a couple of rocks together.” Every time I say this, my husband warns me, “Be careful. You might get your wish.” I’m not sure, in light of all that is going on with our world, that it would be a bad thing.
Instead of a long discourse on politics, the downside of technology, Native American prophecy and the end of the Mayan Calendar, I will simply pass on this wise observation:
Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius — and a lot of courage — to move in the opposite direction.
~Albert Einstein

Dear Leslie
- and all who face this high tech dilemna as well - been there done that. This is from someone in the techno-geek sphere….
I’ve found that red wine works great if you drink it instead of pouring it on the equipment.
When all else fails - demand a new unit. Or punt.
Good luck!

After eight weeks AND a second unit, there are still no signs of life. }: [
I stick by my desire for a couple of rocks. I thought about smoke signals but I was concerned about contributing to global warming.
