What Other Astrologers Are Saying
There’s a great post at Astrological Musings relating the opinions of several astrologers about Pluto’s recent demotion. I have to say that I agree with pretty much all of it.
Nancy Waterman is quoted as saying:
In many ways, the Arab culture has collectively demonstrated many of the attibutes of Scorpio: in its intensity and depth of emotion, its desire for revenge when affronted, and its wealth based on the hidden resource of oil which itself is derived from the death of previous life on earth.
I would have to add that the United States is also a Scorpionic entity. Pluto in the 2nd house (what we value) of the US chart (Sibly) clearly indicates a country that values power and money, as well as the power of money. At no other time in our history has the denial of that fact been greater. I find it ironic that just as the shadow side of our collective persona is showing its face, Pluto gets relegated to the shadows.

I’m so glad to hear this, I’ve been extremely curious as to how the astrological community would react to this change in Pluto’s status. It makes a great deal of sense. My feeling is that downgrading Pluto shows a level of cultural denial that is only going to lead to further turmoil. I mean, transformation
